We Have a Tentative Agreement!

We have reached a Tentative Agreement! Your bargaining team and OHSU's team worked hard to come to an agreement that we believe represents a fair compromise between the team's positions.

This tentative agreement is for a 4-year contract and includes all articles that had previously been agreed upon as well as increased stipends in all 4 years. The stipend amounts are as follows:

Year 1: $37,593 + $250 inflation relief bonus

Year 2: $40,000

Year 3: $40,700

Year 4: $41,110

Other benefits agreed upon include modest increases to dependent coverage and reduced price for Trimet pass in the first year of PhD.

A few highlights from previously agreed upon articles:

  • School of Nursing and School of Public Health Stipends increased to School of Medicine rates

  • Out of pocket maximums for Health Insurance decreased from $3000 to $2000 per year

  • Language that prevents GRs from needing to take PTO when no work is available

  • Codified Juneteenth floating holiday

  • DEI language more in line with other employee unions at OHSU

  • Clarification of opaque reporting mechanisms for discrimination and harassment

  • Extended timelines for paying back large overpayments

  • Increased protections for GRs working offsite

  • Memorandum of understanding establishing plan to create a contract education training for supervisors

For more details about this contract and to hear more about our upcoming ratification vote, come to the contract town hall on Thursday 8/24 from 12-1. Stay tuned for details about the location. Ratification will happen very soon so we can make sure raises start appearing on your paychecks in a timely manner, so come to the town hall with all of your questions!

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the picket at the first mediation session and the sit-in during this session. Your participation and support of these actions was instrumental to getting to this tentative contract.
